Wayne Brady to star in production of “Rent”

He’s shined in improv, starred in his own show and now Wayne Brady is hitting up the stage in new production of “Rent.”

Directed by Neil Patrick Harris, “Rent” will run at this year’s Hollywood Bowl on Aug. 6th and 7th at 8:30 p.m. and Aug. 8th at 7:30 p.m.

Brady will be joined with Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger and High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens, as well as Gwen Stewart, Skylar Astin, Collins Pennie, Telly Leung, Tracie Thoms and Aaron Tveit.

Brady said he was happy that fellow cast-mate Vanessa Hudgens was chosen for her role as Mimi, “I was so happy to hear that she got [the role], because I think it’s great for people to see her outside of the world that’s been built around her…as a Disney kid. I say give her a chance to be a woman!” Brady told Broadway World.
